 HOW TO CHANGE YOUR BEAUTIFUL AXIA ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER

For this blog, I will tell and explain in detail the ways or steps to service the engine oil and oil filter of your Axia. With this information I hope to be able to help some users out there to do this service at home only because it can save you time and money. And you may also gain new knowledge.

Step 1

-Make sure the engine is off and the vehicle is on a level surface.

-Open the front bonnet and seat the bonnet with the lock provided on your left side.

Step 2 

Check the condition of the engine bay if there are any oil leaks or problems in the engine bay before changing the engine oil.

To change your engine oil, there are four main things you should know, namely the dipstick, oil cap, oil filter and drain plug location.

DIPSTICK

 Dipstick location

For most types of vehicles, the dipstick is located on the side of the engine and is yellow in color  because it is easy for you to identify.

The function of this dipstick is to measure your engine oil at the correct amount.

ENGINE OIL CAP 

This is where you pour your engine oil into the engine. This engine oil cap is usually located near the dipstick and has the word or engine oil symbol on the cap to make it easier for you to find it.

OIL FILTER AND DRAIN PLUG 

 Engine oil filter will filter if there is dirt in the engine oil near the drain plug where the engine oil goes out from the engine. 

The oil filter is located under the surface of the engine as you can see now.

Before that you must have the right tools to proceed . 

This is the oil filter opener that will help you to open the oil filter . This is a mandatory and basic tool for any type of vehicle that has the same oil filter as the Axia.

The way to use it is to open it counterclockwise and you can go to the link provided to see more clearly.

For those who are familiar or have strength, you can use a spanner like the first picture, but it may cause damage to the surface of the drain plug. Using a socket can lighten the load and avoid the risk of damage to the drain plug.

For axia the drain plug size is 14 

1. Prepare a reservoir when opening the drain plug. 

2. Open the drain plug bolt by using a suitable tool either a spanner or a socket with a ratchet. 

3. After the old engine oil is out. Close the drain plug again and fasten it not too tightly.

4. After that, open the oil filter using an oil filter opener as shown. 

5.Let the remaining oil come out and wipe around the surface of the oil filter base before installing a new one. 

6.Retighten the new oil filter using the same tool.

7.After the oil filter and drain plug are tied tightly, open the oil cap and fill in 2 and a half liters of new engine oil.

8.After pouring with that amount, pull the dipstick to measure the amount of engine oil to reach the maximum level. 

9.For this axia engine, usually it will use 3 liters for engine oil. 

10. If you find that the engine oil is enough at the maximum level then you have completed the process of changing your car's engine oil. 

11.The last step is to close the oil cap again and start your engine and look and check the drain plug and oil filter if there is a leak.
